Frequently asked questions
Is this invoice generator really free?+
Yes — it's completely free with no signup, no watermark, and no limit on how many invoices you create. Everything runs in your browser: you fill in the details, and you can print or save the invoice as a PDF instantly. We never see or store your invoice data.
How do I make an invoice?+
Add your business name and your client's details, list what you're billing for (description, quantity, and price for each line), and set any tax or discount. The invoice preview updates live as you type. When it looks right, click Print / Save PDF to download it or send it to your client.
How do I save the invoice as a PDF?+
Click the Print / Save PDF button. In the print dialog that opens, choose "Save as PDF" as the destination (available in Chrome, Edge, Safari, and Firefox) and save the file. Only the invoice itself prints — the calculator controls and ads are hidden from the PDF.
Does my invoice data get stored anywhere?+
No. The invoice is built entirely in your browser and is never uploaded to a server. Your current draft is saved locally on your own device (in your browser) so you don't lose it if you refresh — but it stays on your machine and isn't sent to us or anyone else.
What should an invoice include?+
A professional invoice includes your business name and contact info, your client's details, a unique invoice number, the issue date and due date, an itemized list of goods or services with amounts, the subtotal, any tax, and the total due. Adding your payment terms and accepted payment methods helps you get paid faster.
Can I use this for freelance or contractor invoices?+
Absolutely. The generator works for any profession — freelancers, contractors, consultants, photographers, and small businesses. We also offer tailored templates with profession-specific wording; pick the one that fits and the invoice is pre-set for your line of work.
